Career Opportunity:

Centralis are seeking an experienced Group Data Analyst to join on a full-time basis as part of a new cross-functional Data Function within the Group for our Budapest office. The role has the potential to develop into a more senior role with greater responsibility as the function grows. This role ultimately reports into the CFO although will work closely with the Head of IT and Head of Transformation.

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of a group-wide data governance and controls framework, building on the current framework, including: Identification of key data points across the business; Defining ownership and data sources; Documentation generation on data governance & controls
  • Development of a list of data governance priorities and delivery of these to an agreed plan and timelines
  • Data cleansing & integrity maintenance
  • Identification of data gathering automation opportunities
  • Enhancement of data collection procedures 
  • Generating data-driven insights and visualising outputs effectively for wider business reporting (Exploratory Data Analysis) 
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Client-Facing teams and Internal Functions (HR, IT, Finance, Risk & Compliance) at various level of seniority 

Your skills:

  • 1:1 / 2:1 BSc degree in a numerical discipline (e.g. Statistics, Maths, Computer Science, Finance). Further qualifications beyond the above e.g. Masters are beneficial.
  • 5+ years experience in data, data governance, data-driven reporting, IT transformation & change whether in-house or via consultancy.
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral in English – presents with clarity and confidence, adapting style to audience, collaborative approach.
  • Working knowledge of data tools & programming languages e.g. PowerBI, R / Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Excel. 
  • Prior experience in financial services or fund administration. Exposure to private equity, real estate and large corporates a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills – plans and prioritises effectively; a problem solver - strong attention to detail, identifies issues and opportunities proactively
  • Prior experience in developing or rolling out data governance models for medium-sized or large businesses, corporates or technology companies
  • Ability to clearly present and visualize data sets and key insights for wider business reporting & decision making. Comfortable managing and delivering outcomes semi-independently as part of a new function
  • Prior experience in API connectivity, data feeds and working within Data Warehouses. Highly numerate – comfortable with large data sets, quantification, analysis and identifying trends in data
