Robert Thomas

Robert has over 25 years of relevant experience in the offshore financial industry. He was formerly Managing Director of Citco Trustees (Cayman) Limited where he was responsible for Citco’s Caribbean Trust operations including fund governance, unit trusts, real estate investment funds and private trusts. He has served on the board of Citco entities and client structures and as money laundering reporting officer, compliance officer and risk manager.

He has also acted as in-house legal counsel for Citco in both Cayman and the British Virgin Islands. He has experience of working with hedge fund managers across a variety of investment strategies and is proactive in ensuring that a comprehensive corporate governance framework is adopted by the fund boards that he sits on. Robert acts as an independent director to a range of funds across the alternative asset space, including hedge and private equity funds.

His wide centres of knowledge include: corporate governance, trust and administrative services for alternative asset vehicles. His expertise ranges across legal, structuring, risk management, regulation and compliance.
