We are currently recruiting a Compliance Officer for our London/Reading office; location is flexible. The successful candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and have a flexible approach to their work.
Managing a team, you will have the following responsibilities:
You ensure that the business of Centralis UK complies with applicable laws, regulations, supervisory requirements, internal policies and procedures. The compliance function’s goal is to identify and assess the compliance risk of the company, as well as to assist senior management in managing and monitoring this risk. This role would suit candidates with a legal or economic background, and experience in the financial services industry in the UK. Candidates should be able to work autonomously, and possess strong communication, organizational and presentation skills.
- Serve as the MLRO for the UK business, oversee regulatory obligations (laws, regulations, standards of good practice, sanctions) and identify gaps in policies and procedures.;
- Oversee outsourced compliance functions in crown dependencies/overseas territories;
- Review and approve client onboarding and periodic reviews; monitor transaction monitoring processes and reporting.;
- Ensure that Group policies and procedures are implemented in line with applicable laws and regulations.;
- Conduct the Business Risk Assessment and annual compliance plan, ensuring follow-up on action items.;
- Prepare internal and external reports.;
- Assist Group compliance and local management on various projects.;
- Act as a backup for other jurisdictions in which Centralis operates.;
- Advise authorized management on complex compliance matters.;
- Liaise with regulators and auditors; deliver compliance training and provide guidance on complex regulatory matters to senior management.;
Your skills:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree;
- Minimum of four years’ experience within a compliance team of a corporate service provider with international client base.;
- Familiar with compliance systems and procedures;
- Very good command of English with additional European languages highly valued, both written and spoken, and excellent communication skills.s;
- Pro-active, positive minded and responsible;
- Resilient and able to adapt to new challenges.
- Valid work permit for the UK.
