COP26, the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference, was held in Glasgow at the beginning of this month. A member of the Wheelhouse team was lucky enough to not only visit Glasgow during the time of the conference but was also invited to join some of the conversations that were taking place during the conference itself. An experience not to be forgotten.

Wheelhouse Advisors is a socially responsible business. The phrase "social responsibility" is significant to us, and we define this by our intention that the business should strive to act in a manner that benefits society. From a business perspective, social responsibility has become increasingly important to investors and clients alike who seek investments and business partners that are not just successful but also contribute to the welfare of society and the environment. We see our role as more than that and actively work towards contributing to the socially responsible agenda in our day to day by supporting social mobility, taking part in volunteering, and encouraging workplace diversity. Our colleague who visited COP26 was proud to be able to share that her employer was part of the solution and not the problem.

Wheelhouse Advisors are also committed to being climate positive and we partner with Ecologi, who were also present at COP26. Our colleague was able to share that Wheelhouse challenges its own carbon footprint, works towards reducing carbon pollution and helps make the planet a little bit greener by supporting tree planting initiatives. Wheelhouse Advisors has so far offset 158.95 tonnes of CO2. For a breakdown of the projects that we have been supporting, please visit Wheelhouse Advisors on Ecologi.

We are a paperless company and also encourage travel to work by public transport or bicycle. We are part of the "cycle to work" scheme and support employees with the burden of annual travel tickets if they wish to travel by train. Employees have recently received thanks from the company in recognition of our efforts at reducing the impact of disposable bags and disposable cups used at work.
